EDUCATION
Viktor Dimitrov holds a Bachelor’s degree in History and Archaeology from Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” (2003). He is certified in underwater archaeology and advanced diving (NAUI and CMAS Advanced Diver) and has completed English language training.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Since 2019, Viktor Dimitrov has been working as an archaeologist at the Centre for Underwater Archaeology in Sozopol, participating in all major projects of the institution. His extensive experience as a diver and lifelong connection to the sea significantly enrich his work in the field of underwater archaeology.
Before turning to archaeology full time, he ran a surf school for 20 years along various locations on the Southern Bulgarian Black Sea coast. For nine consecutive years, he organized a children’s regatta for ages 6 to 16 at Camping Gradina, establishing himself as a key figure in youth and maritime sports in the region.
ADDITIONAL EXPERIENCE AND ACTIVITIES
Viktor Dimitrov has also made a significant contribution to the development of winter sports in Bulgaria. For over two decades, he has been affiliated with the Bulgarian Ski Federation and has helped organize numerous snowboarding competitions. Between 2006 and 2008, he competed as a member of the Bulgarian national snowboard team and later worked as a coach and instructor at Club Moten. He continues to support young Bulgarian snowboarders through his ski and snowboard repair and service workshop, XRescue, which he founded in 2009 in Sofia.
